Alan is a speaker and seminar leader in strategy development, marketing implementation, mergers & acquisitions, and pricing strategies, and has authored several proprietary documents in these areas. He has worked with the U. S. International Trade Commission as an expert on the impact of imports on domestic prices. He is also a charter member of The Society for the Advancement of Consulting, where he has achieved the rare distinction of Board Approval in strategy implementation. In addition, Alan is a lecturer at Columbia business school's MBA and executive education programs on strategy, pricing and execution.

A Brief History

In 1988 Alan founded Fortier & Associates, Inc., as a consulting firm dedicated to helping industrial companies achieve intensely competitive strategies with strong focus on execution and fast payback. Leading up to this milestone, Alan's career path included:

  • Manager and head of Pricing Strategy Practice at the New York-based consulting firm, Ayers, Whitmore & Co. (a McKinsey spinoff, now part of A.T. Kearny).
  • Management and technical positions with Dupont.
  • An MBA from The Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, summa cum laude, from Cooper Union.
